Production Notes
This is one of the few episodes I've liked more as time has gone on. In 1995, Creutzfeldt-Jacob disease was fairly obscure. One detail no one seemed to notice was that many of the character names were derived from real-life cannibals in history. Trivia: Gary Grubbs, who played the sheriff, was later cast as the fire captain in "X-Files: Fight the Future."
