Un attentat contre la vie de Piero Ier de M\u00e9dicis pousse son fils Lorenzo \u00e0 prendre la t\u00eate de la banque familiale. Install\u00e9 au pouvoir, le jeune Lorenzo (Sharman) s&rsquo;attache \u00e0 faire les choses diff\u00e9remment. Il abandonne cynisme politique du pass\u00e9 pour inaugurer une nouvelle \u00e8re de cr\u00e9ation et de r\u00e9volution politique. Cela a rapidement pour effet de l&rsquo;amener en conflit avec Jacopo Pazzi (Bean), \u00e0 la t\u00eate de l&rsquo;autre puissante famille banqui\u00e8re de Florence. Tr\u00e8s vite, il devient \u00e9vident que Jacopo ne s&rsquo;arr\u00eatera devant rien ni personne pour renverser Lorenzo le Magnifique.
