It's Thursday night, the air conditioning is blasting away in my office to ward off the late-afternoon heat, and there is a sense of anticipation and excitement in our production offices. That's because we're only 12 hours (or so) away from our first day of shooting the "Night Stalker" series. We'll begin early tomorrow morning and shoot several days of new material for the pilot, then segue into the first episode of the series proper next Thursday.
I wrote the pilot and the first episode. After that, you'll start seeing episodes by the rest of the remarkable writing team we've assembled. (I'm happy to say at least a couple of their names will be familiar to "X-Files" fans.)
Speaking of the pilot, I'd like to thank everyone who came out to Comic-Con last Saturday. We got to show the first 20 minutes of the show to the public, and we were all incredibly gratified by the response.
The premiere date, by the way, has now been set for Thursday, September 29, at 9/8c.

Hard to believe we are already six weeks into writing for the series, but it's true. More on that later...
For now, I would like to invite anyone within driving (or flying) distance of San Diego to join me at Comic-Con International on Saturday morning. Stuart, Gabrielle and I will be answering questions, as well as premiering an extended preview of the pilot episode.
Bring your questions -- and anything you'd like autographed -- and I'll do my best to accommodate as many as possible.
