THE TRUTH IS...

The truth is you made a brilliant movie. You have a gem in your lap and so many competitors know it!!! Don't let journalistic cronies ruin it for everyone else. The truth is the film showed characters that evolved not only the course of the film, but the past six years were inferred and left me speechless. The history that you have in these characters is priceless, and can't be measured by anyone but the individual that experiences every moment. Please keep the movies coming--Indiana Jones, James Bond, Star Wars, all keep pushing into the next era of films. You can do it too!!!!! This was a spectacular movie--keep showing 'em what you've got--it's all good!! We love what you do!

JUST A THOUGHT... :)

So a few philes and I were talking and this is what we came up with.
2010: XF3: How Mulder and Scully get back in the FBI (Whoohoo!)
2012: XF4: The Truth is here, it's time to fight colonization!
However, just to be on the safe side perhaps we should have XF4 in 2011, as it will give us a year to see what we're up against and prepare for the actual alien invasion. *insert sounds of alien ice picks and metal quarry housing markets going through the roof here* What do you think? LoL ;)
LOOOOOVED the movie by the way! And thank you, THANK YOU for everything you guys did to get it done! I'm so happy to see Mulder and Scully back and finally happy, and can't wait for more! :D

THANKS FROM LONDON

I just wanted to thank you again for the opportunity you gave the fans at the London premiere tonight. I have just returned home and am still floating from the buzz of it. Myself and my friends were in the smaller screen and to have yourself, Chris, David and Gillian come in to introduce the movie was beyond amazing. As I hope you could tell, we love all of you guys and it was great to know that you understand and appreciate that.
My friend and I actually went to the States last week to watch it (which we did 4 times) but to be at the premiere was like seeing it for the first time all over again. We also got to 'meet' a whole lot of internet friends (see attached photo) for the first time who I've no doubt will be friends for life.
We can't wait for XF3 and will do whatever it takes to persuade the studio that we'll all be there to watch it.
Thanks agan

"OMG, WE'RE GONNA SEE MULDER AND SCULLY!"

I just wanted to thank you for allowing all the fans at the L.A. premiere the opportunity to see the movie with you, Chris, David, and Gillian (just seeing you guys on the red carpet was exciting enough!). It seriously was one of the most surprising, fun, and thrilling experiences of my life! My friend and I went together to the premiere. We've known each other since our freshman year in high school. We actually became friends because of "The X-Files." It was the first day of class in AP Biology and she tapped me on the back and asked me if I liked the X-Files because I had a picture of Mulder and Scully on my binder. Lo and behold she pulled out her binder to show me that she had the same picture on it! And we've been friends ever since (we just graduated college in June). We always promised each other we would go to the premiere if XF2 was ever made- and last Wednesday our promise to one another was fulfilled!
Thanks soo much for this movie!! It was such a treat. I could tell how much the fab 4 (that's what you, Chris, David, and Gillian are being called now! hehe) put into this movie. The last scene moved me so much. It was truly a summation of Mulder and Scully's relationship these past fifteen years. Thanks for bringing so much joy to the fans! Although, it's still a creepy
"X-File," there's so much hope in the film. It's nice to see on the big screen. This better not be the last time we see the fab 4 together! Absence really has made the heart grow fonder. Here's to an XF3! Don't worry about the box office or the critics. I'm seeing the movie for the fourth time this weekend!

WRITING

I'm writing to to express my gratitude for giving us this truly wonderful story, after having watched the new film for the third time this evening. I recall the first time I ever saw the show, flipping through the channels one late Friday night after I should have been in bed. I came across a massive semi-truck sitting in the middle of a darkened highway in the woods, its hi-beams blinding a couple of mysterious looking federal agents. The agents stepped out of their rental car and walked to the back of the truck, climbing inside to find the remnants of an horrofic alien testing lab. That image, everything from the music to the lighting to the reaction on Scully's face, still haunts me. The next time I found the guts to watch an episode, Mulder was leaping onto a speeding train which contained what he believed to be a real, live alien. At that point, I was fully and completey hooked. I never missed an episode of the show, and have since gone back to watch each and every one over, over, and still over again. Never have I felt so strongly about anything than I did, and do, about your little spooky television series, so much so that I started writing my own - granted it was on looseleaf and written in scribbled red ink at the back of my Ever since I discovered the series, and every other 1013 project ever since, I've known I wanted to be a writer; I wanted to do what you do, and still do. I'd like to thank you from the very bottom of my heart for helping to create this little cultural phenomenon known as "The X-Files." I still watch the show, and will enjoy it for years to come, but I now have the opportunity to create my own little phenomenon in the new book I am writing. Because of you, Chris, and every other member of the 1013 team, I know what it is I want to do with my life and someday, I hope, I will have the sheer delight of trying to make you feel the same way about something that I create.
Thanks for believing...and don't give up!

JUMP IN TRAFFIC

Well, I can't find any of the letters or links that I sent to either blog ON the "X-Files" site, BUT, we at M.O.B. have seen a concerted jump in our site traffic (SiteMeter) from the Los Angeles area in just the past two days, and almost all of them went directly to my review post about "I Want To Believe," so either they're concealing their Google search parameters, or somebody somewhere is pointing them our way. At any rate, thanks again for the great film, cannot stand the wait for the next one, and however they got there, thanks for the blog traffic! (And no, none of my blog buds has linked to it thus far, so that avenue has already been explored.) Never look a gift site spike in the mouth, I guess.
Keep up the good work!

OUR FRIENDS IN CHILE

I want to let you know: July had been a month like I never lived before. The last weeks have been a dream: having you here in Chile with Chris, putting on a Convention (I'm sure that you liked it), and of course, seeing our heros back in action again. I saw the movie two times (and I think I will see it many time more!), and, every time I understand even more the concept of the movie: the relationship beetween Mulder and Scully, and how this could affect future events. You said it: you have many histories, and could pick one only.
So, I want to thank you for all of this: making this movie, making us come back to the cinemas and letting us dream again. I tell you again: this month has been a dream for me: you visit, the movie, a future home of my own, and a new baby in the way (yes, my wife is pregnant). I dont need more!!!
Regards
Rodrigo
Chile
P.S. I am sharing with you a picture from the convention. You, Chris and the crew.

Congratulations, Rodrigo. We miss you all!

CAMEO

I've posed this question on the forum, but no one seems to have any answers... or replies at all, really. Chris was pretty obviously in the film, sitting against the wall... but I was unsure of what he was holding. It looked as though he had an urn, and he seemed kind of sad and dejected. My first thought was that it was maybe Frankie's ashes (since you said he died during filming) but then I thought I might be (creepily) thinking into it too much... so... do you have an answer?
Also, I've seen the film three times already, and I'm jonesing to see it again soon. I've brought different groups of people every time, and they all seem to like it (most of them not being Philes, or fans at all of the series). I honestly couldn't be more proud to be a fan right now, and I hope you continue to see how much we all are devoted to you, and to the "X-files" family.
Linz

Those are indeed Frankie's remains.

BEAUTIFUL MOVIE

Here's to hoping Fox will greenlight a third film.
Reading the critics' reviews prior to seeing the movie almost had me down. Almost. But I believed the essence of the show would carry the film to success, if not in the general public then at least for fans. I wasn't disappointed. You all said it would be a tribute to the earlier season, and it was. Only, it didn't explicitly make us question our beliefs and faith like so many episodes that ended in voiceovers. It made us think and come up with the answer on our own. It has taken me three full days to digest what I saw.
When I first walked out, I felt slightly cheated, but only because of plot. Maybe in the years since the show ended, we've all been conditioned to accept higher degrees of creepiness, so I wasn't scared enough. And I didn't think an old psychic was a big enough deal for the FBI to need Mulder (but maybe it was just because Dakota Whitney wanted to meet him). It seemed odd that old Skinner was still sitting in a comfy office at the FBI, despite his involvement with helping Mulder escape. Maybe Kersh took all the blame?
And then I came to realize the themes underlying this story. It made me think about faith. Father's Joe's faith ran so deep he was convinced God could forgive him of his terrible deeds. Scully's faith was once again called into question through Christian. And Mulder still has faith that he can find the truth and expose it to the world. Maybe in the end, all we can truly find is faith in ourselves. Faith that love can transcend time and all obstacles if we accept it. It really is a love story.
Our two heroes have matured so much in the past six years. Mulder is content with staying cooped up in a small house reading newspapers. He went from a wandering soul, always chasing the next big thing to a perfectly happy recluse. Surely he's the one who cooks and does the dishes, right? Scully has found meaningful work without Mulder. She's become more independent. Years ago, she would have followed him no matter how crazy his ideas were. Now, she lets him go off on his own and returns to caring for a sick boy. At the end of the day, they finally have a home to return to.
The visuals were stunning. Thank you for enduring all the snow to make such a stunning backdrop. Rain wouldn't have cut it this time :) The soundtrack is excellent, as always. In a summer filled with capes, testosterone, fight sequences, and CGI, it was so refreshing to see such an intimate movie. Maybe July wasn't the best time to release a film like this. Hopefully the international audience will respond well and the reviews from moviegoers will be enough to let let Fox know we NEED a third movie. We need to see what happens in 2012 and how the world might end.
Thank you for making a beautiful movie.
Sylvia

WHOLE FAMILY

Our whole family (myself, my husband, our 16 year-old twin daughters, and our 11 year-old son) went Saturday. We ALL loved it. My daughters were terrified of the show when they were younger, and my son had never seen it, but we're all looking forward to seeing it again.
The minute the credits rolled I was ready to sit and wait for the third movie. Keep the stories coming as long as you can!!

FEELS LIKE HOME

I was watching IWTB for the fifth time yesterday and after it was over, two newbie friends of mine (who liked it a lot) asked me why I loved it so much, besides the obvious, and the first words out of my mouth were that it felt like home.
And it does.
This movie, this show, Mulder and Scully, having them back, it feels like going home again. It's safe and comfortable, yet new and chanllanging. It's like being seventeen and tucked away in my room on a Sunday night, as I waited with baited breath for the newest episode. It's like being back in that place where everything was simpler and easier. It's like finding an old friend in the midst of a lot of new madness.
I don't know why the show has the power to make me feel the way it does, but I am eternally grateful for the nine years it gave me and the new movie that helped save me from myself.

TEN TIMES

I just sat through my tenth viewing of the movie, and can I just say that it gets better every time I watch it! You would think with watching it that many times that one would see everything but I'm still catching little things. And I thanked you in person at the premiere but I really must say THANK YOU again. All the hard work you and the cast and crew put into this movie is amazing, and I am thoroughly enjoying every second of it. Thank you for making my summer one I will surely never forget.
P.S. I intend to keep going to see the movie, anything to help XF3 become a reality!
With so much love,

BLOOPER?

During the scene where Mulder is following the guy who is driving the truck with the snow plow, he is trying to call Scully on his cell phone. However, the name that comes up on the phone's address window is "Gillian," which is her real name and not her name in the movie. Check it out.

It actually says "Gilligan" (as in Vince Gilligan, the writer).

THROUGH A 9-YEAR-OLD'S EYES

My 9 ½ year old absolutely loved this film. He was thrilled with all of the fan throw backs (pictures, seeds and pencils oh my!) and as for his favorite part of the film, I will quote him: “…when Scully figures out the connection while she is printing the pictures of dogs, the connection between what she has been doing and what Mulder is doing…”
But my interest in "The X-Files" since before his birth has not at all influenced his thought processes in regards to television and/or film….no, no of course not…
XF3 anyone? December 21st, 2012… Jessa’s end of the world party might have to be moved to Los Angeles.

ACROSS THE POND

Hope everything is going well for you all on your visit to the UK. With the premiere in Leicester Square just hours away, I expect you wont read this until later, but I hope it's a wonderful evening for you and everyone attending. I was incredibly disappointed to have missed out on the recent ticket giveaway, with my trivia answer being about an hour too late, but it was an amazing opportunity and I'm sure all the lucky winners are going to make the most of the experience. I can't wait for the movie to open on Friday, not just for the obvious, but because we fans in England can finally join in with all the reaction and celebration. It's been a very difficult week since the domestic launch, desperately trying to avoid spoilers and reviews all over the internet, having to stay away from fan forums, and of course averting my eyes from most of your blog entries. Even google is a minefield! From the weekend, us Brits can finally come in from the cold.
In the mean time, it's been good seeing David and Gillian hitting the talkshows over here as public anticipation builds. I discovered that you and Chris were going to be in Oxford Street's HMV yesterday too late to make travel plans. How did it go? I've also learned that your next stop will be Forbidden Planet on Thursday lunchtime. I'd so very much like to make it down to meet you both, although the distance and expense is proving tricky. But I can think of nothing better than to shake your hand and tell you both in person how much I admire your work, and that you're two of my personal heroes.
Here's hoping for the strongest possible opening weekend at the UK box office. Thank you for making this movie for us. It's a gift waiting under the tree, and even though some of our brothers and sisters have got to open theirs first, the wrapping has not been torn, and in just a few days we can enjoy it with them.

DOING SOMERSAULTS AGAIN

Actually I have nothing more to say than all the others out there (which is still so very much thrilling for me, that we are so many!).
The first time I saw the movie with many other philes I was so sad. Because after having seen the movie the butterflies in my stomach just stopped to cruise around. I thought "now it's over" And it left me behind with such a strange feeling, because I thought I actually should tumble.
Well, for not sounding negative: NOW I AM doing somersaults. Because I watched the movie the fifth time, each time getting in more and more. First I called it strange (I guess most of all because we had this strange dubbing voice), now I call it new and adorable. Even though I´m still afraid what happens after all this exciting time I am so greatful you all gave it to me as the MOST WONDERFUL TIME IN THE YEAR so quote a Phile-collegue ;)
It´s not only about the movie I want to express my thanks, but especially to you and Chris, because you really took... such great care of us. All you have done for us will never be forgotten.
We are always out there with your present [and guideline for life] for us: HOPE.
In deep gratitude,
Morgana

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Wonderful movie! Excellent work. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We went to see it twice. My daughter went to see it three times.
A straight forward "X-Files" story, great locations, pure film, no computer generated crap, etc., etc., etc. ! And produced with such a low budget, but it did not show. Congratulations. Our household will be peppering Fox, Inc. with letters demanding a third movie! You can count on it.
One question - (spoiler alert) - what was CC holding in his hands while he made a quick cameo appearance sitting in the hospital hallway?
Cheers.....

Those were the remains of Chris' beloved poodle, Frankie, who died during filming.

EVEN BETTER THE FIFTH TIME

Hi Frank, I just watched it again... for the 5th time. I will probably go again tomorrow just because I want to see them on the big screen as many times as I possibly can, or afford.
Can we write to anyone at Fox to tell them THANK YOU and PLEASE make XF3 in 2011 (for November 2012 release of course)? I feel so disheartened that the critics and I guess the audience isn't realizing how truly amazing and deep IWTB really is. Is Brent O'Connor at Fox? I think all Philes should write to him, or his boss. Rupert Murdoch, perhaps?
THANK YOU FOR THIS MOVIE! I love it so much. I know I am jumping the gun with XF3 but I just am so worried that they won't make it, and that makes me so incredibly sad. But of course, I won't give up.
lovingly, jen from los angeles

Brent isn't a Fox employee -- he's our valued colleague, who also helped produce the "Millennium" pilot years ago. But feel free to write anyone else!

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE

Hi Frank,
I just wanted to say that I think the support film is receiving from die-hard fans is unbelievable, yet at the same time, it does not surprise me even in the slightest. (As you probably already know, philes can be pretty relentless.) I think it is great that everyone is trying to do their part to make TXF: IWTB more successful at the box office. Whether it be through word of mouth or by flooding negative movie reviews with our defensive comments, we really do want to believe that everyone else can understand there is more to this film than what initially meets the eye. There are only two reasons why so many people (critics) are giving this movie a bad review: a) no explosions and b) they simply don't understand it. This isn't a film in which the moral of the story is handed to the audience outright; it is a film with many layers that, once peeled away, may just be the best movie I have seen in a very long time. The underlying meaning is found in the struggle between work and love, as we get to witness the changing dynamic between Mulder and Scully first as parters in life and second as former partners at work. It is about redemption and the pursuit of something that one so desperately wants to achieve. It is about two people, two perfect opposites, who take their relationship to a level that runs deeper than any fan could've ever hoped. And for that, I would like to thank you; for your efforts, for this film, for Mulder and Scully, and for not giving up.
Sincerely,
Amanda

FRENCH PHILES AGAIN!

We wanted to show you some pictures of the first day of some X-Philes in Paris. This is just the beginning of the X-Philes in Paris and that's why we're not a lot yet, we're mostly poeple from the organisation staff.
We're promoting the movie everywhere, and thanks to you we're also meeting great people and do I need to tell you that we have a lot of fun all together ?!
You can find attached some nice (we hope so) pictures of us today, everywhere in Paris with a sign for the event, and our T-shirts... and even having fun screaming "X-Files" at the Eiffel Tower where we showed the huge sign we made. We were having fun in the subway yelling "Scully" while the other one answered "Mulder!" Or each time we saw the billboard, we were saying very loud : "It's Here!" We like noticing that some people haven't forgotten the show, we noticed it in a store where the cashier whistled for us the "X-Files" theme and also when some other people were answering: "Oh yeah, the X-Files, that's great !"... So now, we and you can be sure that many poeple in Paris have heard about us, and of course about "The X-Files: I Want To Believe."
Thanks again for all you've done and for continuing to answer us.
The French arPhiles.

LOVES

When "The X-Files" went off the air in 2002, The Christian Science Monitor published an article describing Mulder and Scully as unique among characters for having a relationship characterized by agape, love based in unconditional, intense appreciation and understanding, in contrast to erotic love. I had always believed that involving Mulder and Scully romantically would elevate the physical nature of their relationship above the spiritual nature, and I loathed the idea that they could become common in this way, like almost every other example we see in film, TV, and often life.
When I saw this movie, I changed a long-standing belief system. I think the ways their relationship was written, acted, and filmed showed that it is possible for eros to serve agape, that the physical world can support a person's spiritual nature. In this way, Scully and Mulder are a counterpoint to other beliefs, attitudes, and actions toward bodies and souls throughout the film. Some of the characters elevate their physical conditions or existences above morality, some deny themselves or are angry because of the conditions of their bodies or physical desires, and some divorce their perceived spiritual existence from the reality of the physical world. Everyone seems to need redemption from some physical, emotional, or spiritual battle.
The primary resolution that I see in this is that Mulder and Scully don't become tragic, but rather have moments of goodness and good humor. This makes for fantastic entertainment, in my opinion, especially when presented so sparingly and with both bravery and class.
Thank you so much for this experience. Even if I flunk out of graduate school during my dissertation year and end up penniless and unable to buy movie tickets next year because I spend too much time musing on this movie, I will remain grateful for the story you all have told and the ways in which it has made all of us more thoughtful.

BEAUTIFUL

Hi Frank!
Just wanted to say thank you! I saw you and Chris when you came to the Apple store in Soho-and I have to say listening to both of you was the highlight of my anticipation for the movie. However, I have to admit that I wanted to hear a lot more from you both about the movie! But after seeing the film, I am so grateful that you lectured the way you did! I could have never imagined a more touching and emotional story full of depth and honesty with Mulder and Scully. The film was much more insightful and satisfying then I thought it would be. I honestly never go to the movies, but being a true fan for all these years really paid off in the long wait for seeing the film. Thank you so much again for playing the characters out the way you did, in the most honest and telling light. I really couldn't imagine a more beautiful story!

WELL DONE

I'm a Phile from Kansas. I'll be beelining to Portland, Oregon as soon as I graduate with my bachelor's degree. Portland's close to Vancouver, you know. Lots of rain. I love it.
Thank you for the new film. I'll probably blog a proper, enthusiastic review in the next few weeks, and if so, I'll send you a link. First, though, I plan to see it again tomorrow night. I hope, and am confident, both Philes and positive word of mouth will help keep "I Want To Believe" in theaters for the length it deserves, and garner some more positive attention. What a welcome relief from the moronic wasteland splashing across American cinema screens anymore, particularly in the summer. Of course, such was the welcome relief provided by the series in the miserable garbage heap of television programming. Your new film's carefully crafted story, with layer upon subtle layer pieced together so perfectly, must simply be over the heads of audiences lulled into laziness by the brainless junk flying at them in all directions.
I hope London kicks ass. My impression is they have a more thoughtful appreciation of the arts, and their critics hopefully do too. Your film will stand up over time. I doubt "Stepbrothers" will.
Please make a third.
David

DID NOT DISAPPOINT!

Thank you for the movie - my wife and I loved it. We are longtime fans, and you did not disappoint!
Instead of repeating myself here, I've included a review from my blog: http://figaro-pravda.blogspot.com/2008/07/so-ive-been-fishing-around-on.html
Thank you again!

CLASSIC "X-FILES"

I began watching "The X-Files" in 2000 after moving away to college (no cable on the family farm). I worked backward from there, eventually watching all of the show's episodes. As a relative latecomer to "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" offers a new opportunity for me. Seeing Mulder and Scully on the big screen was thrilling! I just wanted to let you know that the film surpassed my expectations. I couldn't have asked for anything more. IWTB is a suspenseful and thoughtful narrative, centered around themes which are very appropriate for today's audience. I am proud to say that this movie made me think, and that's what I've always enjoyed about the series. I am also proud to say that it was quite creepy. To quote many other fans: this movie was "classic X-Files." Honestly, I don't think that higher praise exists.
We believe in you. Thank you for believing in us.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sims

SEE IT AT LEAST THREE TIMES

Here's why everyone should see this movie 3 times...
1st time - At the premiere so I was just in love with, well, everything about the entire day. Almost feels like a blur, didn't come away with much more than joy and I loved it.
Even if you weren't at the premiere... after all this waiting and talking we've done for all this time, it's a shocker. Can't judge it on that viewing. So must :0) go back again!
2nd time - A more critical viewing. Started to get more into the underlying subplots. No matter your thoughts the first time, you will be looking more closely at everything.
3rd viewing - LOVED IT! Seriously, I just got back from it (other audience members really enjoyed it too and they weren't 3 timers like me!) After reading everyone's views/insights/opinions on here and other XF places... I really came away thinking how great this movie was. It's deep. There's a lot to think about. Don't you just like movies that have so much going on that you have to really really pay attention to get all the subtext and stuff. I think I realized just how much I loved it during this third viewing when I noticed that the street on which the abductors were doing the surgeries was called Belleflower - the first town that the first XF episode took place in. That NAILED IT FOR ME!
Wonder what a fourth viewing will do for it???
Guess I'm going to force myself to check it out. tehe.
I can't wait for the dvd. I have so many questions now. I'm hoping we get several commentary tracks and lots of deleted scenes. Pretty please Frank!
Thanks for making such a great movie! I'm going to go post this on every single movie sight now that I haven't already posted my 5 star bump at:)!

EXCEEDINGLY HAPPY

To Chris, Frank, Gillian, David and all who helped make this movie possible, thank you.
I know what a long road it was to put this movie out and I can’t express rightly my gratitude for all of your hard work. I appreciate the lengths you took to keep the plot under wraps (though it was somewhat frustrating), because as a result I truly had no idea what to expect. I went to the midnight showing at the Arclight with my group of fellow devotees (half of us have been following together since our high school days) and not a single one of us was disappointed. In fact, the film was better than I had hoped for. I’ve seen it now twice and liked it even better the second viewing. There is quite a lot depth to the story and I plan to go back again to uncover even more it!
Though the initial box office returns and the majority of critics reviews are less than what was hoped for, I still have faith that this movie will do well. Know for certain that your loyal fans are indeed exceedingly happy.
I want more than anything for there to be a third installment, so if there is anything we fans can do aside from spread the word, let us know! But if it is not to be, thank you, thank you, thank you for giving this gift to us!

COMBATTING NEGATIVE ENERGY

I'm confused by all this negative box office talk. It's as if most of these critics and reporters are unaware that "The X-Files: I Want To Believe" only had a budget of $30 million and a negligible marketing budget. The movie already made $19+ million this past weekend in the United States and in a limited worldwide release. With domestic and global promotion still going on and the upcoming premiere in the United Kingdom and a host of other countries, of course this film is going to see a profit from its theater sales alone. Then with eventual DVD/Blu-Ray sales (and people are much more willing to buy a movie like this to complete their collection than say a movie like Step Brothers), the profits will increase. I understand the movie didn't crush the box office or anything, but surely the people at Twentieth Century Fox who green lighted the movie are not having any regrets. I know it's too early for you to discuss the possibility of "The X-FIles 3," but do you really think a third film is as unlikely as some of the naysayers are making it seem?
Justin

It's still early, Justin. Time will tell.

A MILLION AND ONE

I'm sure you've already heard this a million times. But I'll make it a million and one.
I'm SO happy with "I Want To Believe."
Just seeing everyone again was a huge thrill, but you made a movie that really stayed true to everything I remembered. It felt great to hear the banter between Mulder and Scully, again. I am so happy that they are together. And I loved the scene at the end of the movie. In fact, there were so many lines/ things that I loved, I'll stop trying to list them all. But the story was interesting, and it was just all around fantastic to be back "looking into the darkness."
Of course, I'm greedy, and I hope there's more to come. But I just wanted to thank you for letting me experience life with the cohabitating Mulder and Scully. I am so happy, I can't thank you enough.
Thank You!

WILL NOT GIVE UP!

So Frank this is how we're helping out people to discover the greatness of this movie!
I'm in L.A. right now and decided that people have to share with us the great experience of watching this amazing movie that you, Chris, Gillian, David and so many dedicated people have created for us! So what I've done is that everytime, before I go into the theater or out of the showing and see people wandering around the box office deciding what to see... I go straight to them and simply recommend the movie! At first it was very odd, people just jumping to your face and having a complete stranger talk so passionatelly about a film that they could go watch, but I'm getting very good at selling the idea, it gets easier everytime! Plus I meet cool people along the way!! I'm creating a whole collection of pictures of box office posters from every theater I've gone to and its been the greatest of fun! Everytime I see the movie I find so much meaning in the phrase "Don't give up!" and we Philes won't. It's a life philosophy.

THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE

I’m sure you’ve heard it countless times by now, but let me again say Thank You. Thank you for being so generous to all the loyal fans of "The X-Files" and thank you for allowing us to see Mulder and Scully in their lives today in a way that I believe we all wanted. If this was indeed the last outing for our beloved characters (and I can guarantee you that I certainly do not subscribe to that belief), then it has brought the closure so many of us have sought.
Like so many others, I too was filled with anger and disappointment at the reviews that are out there. But then I thought…it seemed somewhat fitting. The feelings that were invoked by those reviews seemed familiar...
And then I realised – it was the same feeling I got when I watched Mulder and Scully in their plight through all the years of "The X-Files." Like Mulder and Scully in their quest, this film is confronting the same adversity and injustice.
It seems that there are many critics out there who are driven by their own agendas which are not relevant to the actual film. I wont name names so as not to provide free publicity, but one critic in particular chose to discuss 9/11 and his own political take on it’s relevance to Film & Television, as opposed to the actual movie. Trickery and sleight of hand as opposed to actually reviewing a film.
What appears to be evident is that these critics are not writing in the best interests of their readers; they have their own financial and political agendas they must conform to (website hits and newspapers sales through sensationalism and controversy), in addition to fearing judgment and ridicule by their peers.
These critics are like the syndicate / government, doing anything and everything to keep Mulder and Scully from revealing the truth. In this instance, the truth being that this movie is brilliant in its own right, for reasons already mentioned by the many loyal fans, and it more than justifies keeping "The X-Files" alive.
The truth IS out there, and thankfully, just like “Deep Throat” and “Mr. X”, there are those among the syndicate that support our cause, such as Roger Ebert (http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080723/REVIEWS/1651704) and Stephanie Zacharek (http://www.salon.com/ent/movies/review/2008/07/25/x_files/).
And just like Mulder, despite all the adversity and advice to the contrary, we should not give up hope. We should never EVER give up and we must continue to support "The X-Files" and keep fighting for what we believe in.
And that is the purpose of this movie. To reiterate what the TV series taught us:
Keep the faith. Fight for what you believe. Be true to yourself. And Never EVER give up.
In anything you do, always be true to yourself and don’t give up.
We as fans, as believers in "The X-Files," as supporters of Frank Spotnitz, Chris Carter, et al’s work, should get the word out to NOT listen to the critics, to TRUST NO ONE and let the movie speak for itself.
No one can be spoon-fed the truth. You can only ever truly know the truth by seeking it out yourself.
So let me say again, Thank You Frank Spotnitz, Chris Carter, David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson and Mitch Pileggi for bringing these characters back to life and making so many of your fans so very happy.

"WE'RE HERE! WE'RE HERE! WE'RE HERE!"

To all of you fantastic people that made this movie:
I just got back from seeing the movie for a second time, and I have to say it does get better each time you see it!! Not that anything will top watching it for the first time with no clue on how the story will turn out. I saw it on Friday at the 12:01am showing, and though the turn out was smaller than I expected, the enthusiasm from those fans filled the theater to its limits (my enthusiasm included!). I really 'got' the film. The battle of beliefs, tests of morals, where should one draw the line between science and faith, and most importantly never give up on something you feel is right. Though the numbers may not prove this movie to be an amazing work, I always feel people place too much emphasis on numbers (and unfortunately that's the only thing studios listen to these days). It's not a popcorn shoveler even though it certainly has it's nail-biting moments! It's a 'thinking' film that carries a great message. The second time I saw it, I watched the amount of people walking into the theater despite what critics have been saying, and I got a good laugh at myself. I could hear those little Who's in "Horton hears a Who" screaming "We're Here! We're Here! We're HERE!!" The fans are here. We love it. We want more. You guys brought back something that affected our lives from the very first episode (I'm studying film in college now thanks to "The X-Files" 'babysitting' me since I was eight!). I say screw the numbers and always remember you've made countless people happy. That's what is most important. We are here and we DO believe!!
On a side note ... was that a cameo of Chris I saw?! I don't want to give anything away to people who haven't seen it, but was he the guy holding the little white urn?
Lots of love and respect,

SEE IT TWICE

As fate would have it, I made the mistake of leaving before the credits ended the first time I saw XF2, so I was compelled to go back to see what I missed. I can honestly say this movie
Was even better the second time! Thank you Chris, Frank, David, Gillian et al for making an smart, scary, thought provoking movie! XF2 was definitely worth the wait!!! Here's to XF3...

CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT

I finally got to see "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" today (unfortunately, work kept me from catching it opening day) and I want to say thank you for giving this X-Phile a film that I haven't been able to stop thinking about. I've seen all the big blockbusters this summer and have had lots of fun at the movies, but none of them has given me as much to reflect on as IWTB has, not even the profound and critical darling "Wall-E". Others have so eloquently expressed what makes IWTB such a special film, so I will spare you the details. But I will say that regardless of how one would categorize "The X-Files," sci-fi/fantasty/horror etc, it is above all a love story, and I thank you for bringing that to the forefront of this movie. Despite all the bizarre and eerie villains that certainly creeped me out and scared the bejesus out of me during the show's incredible run, it was Mulder and Scully that kept me coming back week after week. I don't think I would have classified myself as a shipper a decade ago, but as Mulder and Scully have grown so have I and it is essentially their relationship that remains the heart and soul of "The X-Files." IWTB portrays this relationship fraught with sacrifice, heartache, fears and doubt, but also shows us its depth, commitment, and strength. We should all be so fortunate to experience a relationship like that in life, one that we work hard at each and every day, fight for, and not take for granted. As a true fan I thank you for not ignoring the history of the show, I thank you for all the Easter Eggs (especially the one after the credits, which most of the audience was oblivious to, for shame), and I thank you for giving me another new experience with my all time favorite characters. Thank you also for reaching out to the fans with events like those at the Apple Store in SoHo, which was amazing. I will be watching IWTB several more times in the coming weeks and dragging (forcibly) anyone else I can with me. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Please make more!

LONDON PREMIERE

I will be at the premiere in London with some friends of mine. We will watch the movie with you, CC, DD and GA.
Do you know when all of you will arrive at the red carpet? Because we think that we have no chance to see you on the red carpet before the movie will be played.
ThanX in advance.
byebye and greetings from Germany
Manuela (aka spookydogstar)

I'll be at the London premiere Wednesday! Thank you so much for the tickets!!!
I've never attended a premiere... Can you tell us if there will be a talk with the cast members after or before the movie? Will it be possible to have autographs? Maybe you could organise a signing session? It would be so great! I don't want to be so close to you all and go back home with no autographs... I would be so sad!
Many thanks, and see you Wednesday!!!!!

Paris - France

The red carpet event is expected to begin at about 6 p.m. A closed circuit TV crew will be on the red carpet so that fans in the audience can watch from inside the cinema. David, Gillian, Chris and I will also be on stage to introduce the movie. There won't be any autographs, however Chris and I will be signing at Forbidden Planet on Thursday.

NO WORDS

I don't know whose decision it was to let the fans into the premiere, but that was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I'm still unable to actually find words to express what it meant to me. It was amazing to be watching the movie in the same room as all of the people responsible for making the show that has captivated me for almost half of my life. I'll definitely never forget it.
On a less serious sidenote, I grew up in Richmond, VA, and was excited about all the Richmond mentions and the appearance of the Richmond Times-Dispatch in the movie! I actually saw the movie for the third time on Sunday in Richmond and everyone there seemed excited as well! :)

KEEP THE FAITH

I have to imagine you are disappointed by the first week box office grosses. You were placed in a bad situation up against a box office monster and with what appears to be a limited marketing budget. (My understanding is your filming budget was $30 mil compared to Dark Knight's $180 mil, lol, so maybe a Spring or Fall release would have served this film better.) That being said, I enjoyed this film, I enjoyed all 200 plus hours of the series, I hope that the international grosses and the DVD sales and maybe some good word of mouth from fans will kick up the domestic take and that we will be able to see more adventures. I want to believe there will be more to this story. Thanks everyone involved in "The X-Files" for all the years of thoughtful entertainment.

BETTER

I'm not what you would call an "X-File" fanatic - - my wife is -- (more on that later) - - but I do want to say that I have seen the film twice, including the requisite midnight show that my wife and I went to see. I can think of no better way to put this but I really do enjoy this movie and even go so far as to rate it (via Yahoo Movies) higher than "The Dark Knight."
Your movie has such chemistry between all the actors that it pulls you in quickly and takes you for a very enjoyable ride. The subtleties are there, so much so that I 'm afraid the less observant would not grasp the gossimer thread the guides the viewer to the next scene and beyond. I particularly enjoyed that most of the scenes were night shots -- something that would ring a "Duh" with regular Philey's - but please let me express my gratitude.
As one who endured the cold winter of Pemberton while your crew was up there filming, my wife was thrilled to see the various scenes come to the big screen. In fact, we visited again about one month ago and may rettire there someday. What a beautiful spot. Oh yes, and love those Potatoes.
My wife and I want to know if the next movie would include something regarding the Year 2012 -- which is a central theme in the television series.

P.S. Where was the tropic scene photographed?

It's too early to talk about another movie, but I can tell you the final images were photographed in Hawaii.

FULFILLLING

I'm one of the girls who showed up at the red carpet for the Vancouver screening on Thursday. You and Chris very kindly said hello and signed a lunchbox and some pictures and posters for us. We were thrilled enough with that, but I wish you could've seen our faces the moment we were given the extra tickets and allowed in to see the movie with all of you! The woman in charge of handing out the tickets said it was "all Chris and Frank," so we want to thank you very much. What an experience to mark this movie we've been anticipating for so many years!
Other people have articulated their appreciation for the movie better than I could, so I'll keep it short. I think some viewers and reviewers couldn't help but expect an "X-Files" installment as it was ten years ago - suits, badges, and fanged monsters. Instead you made an intimate, tense, and quiet film that is a beautiful thematic capstone to the series and to Mulder and Scully. It's a very different thing, and I love that. I want to express my thanks to you, Chris, David, and Gillian for giving this movie to us - and also for all you've put into the promotion and "fan" aspect of this reunion. It's strange to love someone's creation and never be able to express to them the meaning of that connection, but I think this time around many fans have been able to achieve it. I hope the exchange is as fulfilling for you as it is for us. :)
Thanks so much, and have fun in London!

GIMME MORE

I just want to say how excited that the second film finally made it's way to the theatre. Having seen it 2 times already, I can safely say that I loved it. Yes the plot could have been fleshed out a bit more but movie was really about Mulder and Scully. I feel you and Chris succeeded in developing their relationship. I loved the scenes. But it could have used more Skinner! (He can come back for the next movie)
I had brought along a friend who had never seen the show and she really enjoyed it; saying that it was creepy and that she liked the plot because it wasn't so OUT there. But we know the Truth is out there because Mulder and Scully have unfinished business. I am hoping for XF3. I left the theatre feeling that couldn't be it. The 2012 Invasion has to happen so that Mully and Sculder (yes I typed that on purpose) can fight the aliens. I'm hungry for another movie. That's all I can say.
Thanks again for making this movie. You satisfied my X-Phile heart.
*hopes for a third movie.*
I BELIEVE.
Did I mention there should be a third movie?

WORDS ARE CHEAP, BUT THANKS

I was in a theater Thursday night for a midnight showing of "I Want To Believe" and I feel compelled to tell you that it did NOT disappoint. It was everything that I love about "The X-Files" and so much more. I walked out in the end trying to process it all and put together all of the pieces, and I thank you and Chris Carter for that. It was so refreshing to use my brain instead of having to numb it.
Afterward I couldn't help but feel that intelligence and heart is dwindling in most of society today and that that would be the reason that "I Want To Believe" would be unappreciated. I have to admit that I hardly have much respect left for most critics after reading most of those reviews and it is more than disheartening to hear about fans who didn't appreciate this gem of a film. I feel that it is tremendously misunderstood by many. I guess you really can't please everyone. But I was tremendously pleased and touched because there was a beautiful realness to it all that will unfortunately go unnoticed and under-appreciated by those with unrealistic expectations (and not to mention, expectations that would be so untrue to the series and characters).
I had really missed Mulder and Scully and it was such a thrill to see them again. Having grown up watching the series and these characters, well...I get uncharacteristically giddy just thinking about it. If the numbers don't add up in the end and it's the reason that we don't get another look into the adventures of the duo, then I guess that's just the way the business goes. But we all know that "The X-Files" seemed to be somewhat of a rebel wonder among the much too empty and much too hyped in that very business. In my heart it's always been cult, and something that only a privileged few would be allowed to understand, appreciate, and love. I really saw the film as a gift and I appreciated it.
Words are cheap and I don't feel that I have even begun to truly express my thoughts adequately, but I would like you to know that I've always believed and I extend my deepest respects to all of you involved.
Hopefully this isn't the end,

FOR THINKING PERSONS

I have to say how proud I am of my fellow Philes.
After spending the past number of hours rather glaring (insert series of explicative here) at the reviews I have been reading, journeying back to the source saved me from 'woeful melancholy.'
Thank you, my fellows.
Yes, it was a romance, of the most realistic and compelling kind. As many of you stated, I had to watch it a second time just to get a real feeling, the first time so numb from lack of stimulation, these intervening years, I think! How drole!
Many on different response forums to these horrid unenlightened reviews are going, as Ebert gratefully provided, "God, do you know how to think, and for yourself!?" Because, this is "X-Files," you have to.
Having started watching the show at 15, yes, I was the geek girl valedictorian that thought *I* was the loser (Thank you, Gillian for bucking up my self esteem.) I loved analyzing everything!
And, finally, after years, my entertainment has again paralleled my personal life, the nit-picky noble devotion to detail is back in full force, and who cares! I'm happy, as are all of you.
Good to know that we are having our Thinking Person's Days all over again, and our best friends and fellow Philes are excited again, and life is all shades of grey and not centered in conformed dualism again. The non-categorical people now again can broadcast their category with pride.
Gosh, I didn't even say anything about the movie? Well, it was good, great, personal, and cherished.
Chris, Frank, David and Gillian, thank you for being devoted to your craft, and as we have and continue to honor you, thank you for honoring us, no matter how silly we may get at times!
It is truly a strange family dynamic, isn't it? And, I love my family.
Ok, everyone, let's keep watching and dragging all the skeptics along. I mean, Mulder did that for how many years to Scully, and she became a believer, in her own wonderfully rigid and honorable way, of course. We wouldn't change a day on that.
And, slogan time, "Don't give up!" As I hear Gillian's voice as Scully yelling it, I really can't forget. And, who really wants to.

FAKE SPOILERS

I've seen the movie a bunch of times now, and each time the audience has been very responsive! Last night, everyone even stayed for the treat after the credits! There's also a great discussion going on at xfilesnews.com right now.
I seem to recall you saying you would let us know what things, if any, you and Chris leaked to mislead us spoiler junkies. Well, the movie is out. Care to 'fess up?
Thanks for this wonderful year. I'm still finding it surreal that I get to see Mulder and Scully again!

TRUTH

So I have seen this film four times now and I am taking my 9 ½ year old son to see it for his first time tonight. Ten years ago I gingerly squeezed my 7 months pregnant belly into an overstretched X-Files t-shirt and sat at midnight completely captivated by “Fight the Future." Now to be able to take my child, who was inside of me for the first movie to see “I Want to Believe”, it has all come full circle. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to believe again, in life, in love, in ourselves. It has been an honor for me to work with XFN to help promote this film and I plan to continue in the future to support “The X-Files” and everyone involved in it along with their future endeavors. I spent four days last week in Los Angeles and I got to meet and talk with a lot of great people. “Nailed it” doesn’t begin to describe the love affair fans are having with this film.
So to end this, critics are paid to be critical while fans are rewarded beyond measure time and time again with this series and the people involved in it. There are those out there who cannot see past aliens and green goo but I want you to know that there are just as many who really understand what this show was about, and it was never just about aliens. “The X-Files” is about truth, and becoming a better human being by wanting to believe in it, searching for it, and making yourself and those around you better because of it. Each person’s truth might be slightly different, but in the end, the deeper meaning of this series is what keeps it alive in the hearts and minds of those willing to see it.
It’s been fun.

HUNGRY FOR MORE

I went to see "The X-Files: I Want To Believe" yesterday afternoon with two friends. I was quite surprised that it was only on one screen at our local multiplex and further surprised when there wasn't all that much of a crowd seeing it when we did. We enjoyed the film. Thanks for bringing it to us. The current box office estimate for the weekend isn't very promising, but perhaps it can even build next weekend. Overseas box office and future DVD sales might also be bright spots. You've definitely left fans of the series hungry for more. Your interview over at The Futon Critic http://www.thefutoncritic.com/rant.aspx?id=20080725_xfiles was quite interesting. Anyway, thanks again for the movie.

COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS

I saw the movie twice and both times I left with tears in my eyes. They weren’t exactly tears of disappointment, it was mostly melancholy. Because "The X-Files" have grown up just the way I have grown up. And because I didn’t want to leave that fictional world again that had been the source of so much inspiration in my childhood.
First of all I need to admit I didn’t like the story very much, to me it didn’t feel like an X-File, it didn’t have the atmosphere of the old episodes of the first season. It didn’t have the mystery, the typical X-Files vibe. There were some moments where I caught that vibe, but it didn’t really come to full bloom. Maybe it got stuck in all the snow ;) (Speaking of which: the soundtrack was terrific.)
So there was some disappointment there, but I guess you guys all spoilt us too much when we were kids. I would have loved to see a real Monster of the Week, a serial killer who eats livers, skin, fat, souls or memories. And I cannot deny that I felt a little sad that after 6 years without an X-file, this was the one – maybe the last one - we got. However, I guess the story itself wasn’t really what the movie was about.
And I must admit: the pressure coming from all those demanding fans out there was huge.
I feel the movie was about the characters themselves, about the fight between faith and reason, the fights we fight against ourselves and the world out there everyday. It’s about staying true to yourself, it’s about love and what life does to those who love. It’s about hope and how you should never give up even at times when you think you completely lost yourself on the way.
I loved how you developed the relationship. It comforted me. Because I now know that somewhere out there Scully and Mulder are doing just fine. And I had been asking myself that question for 6 years…I had wondered whether their love would be strong enough to keep up with the life they had chosen. My definition of the perfect partnership is based on Mulder and Scully and their love. And I somehow needed to know that this indeed was a love that could last, no matter what life would do to them.
You have finished one of the greatest love stories in TV history and you even managed to move past this, just like the fan in “BRAVE” said: You took the next step and told their story until the end: that loving each other means to fight for each other every day. That you need to stay true to yourself and to your partner to make it work.
I thank you very much for this very intimate and idiosyncratic aspect of the movie, for this big aspect, since it seemed to tell a story of its own. It described a complex relationship in the most realistic way I could have imagined and it was absolutely beautiful to see these two being to close to each other, physically and emotionally in such a natural way.
Thanks for sharing this short glance at their lives with the fans.
Interestingly, only 4 months ago I had written a piece of fanfiction about a possible plot for the next movie and even though I had written a mythology story I also had my thoughts on how their relationship might have changed in all those years. Which is why my appreciation for how you pictured it is so great: Because it’s really hard. Anyway, what made me smile was Mulder’s and Scully’s last dialogue in the movie where they talk about the darkness inside of him that would always find her. In my story I had written something very similar. (see excerpt below) And that is interesting. Because it shows how writing works and how fiction can come to life and how it influences the way we perceive, feel and think in very similar ways even though we all are very different people.
You created two interesting and wonderful characters who reached out for millions of minds out there where they continued to live even long after the end of the show. It’s like we all share one big collective consciousness where Mulder and Scully will always love each other in a true ‘not-walk-into-the-sunset-hand-in-hand’ way. And that makes them very real.
It’s the one thing we all want to believe in, regardless of our background. Because love is the only thing that makes live bearable. It’s the only truth and you taught us that.
Thank you and please don’t think I’m ungrateful for not loving the story so much. Here’s still hoping for a third movie.
Scully’s thoughts on leaving Mulder in my fanfic “Origin of Light”:
“Their search for answers could not be pursued in the light. For the answers lay in the dark. And they themselves had become part of that darkness that they were trying to defeat. That was what had destroyed them in the end.
And maybe that was the reason why she had left: Because she had been longing for the light Mulder hadn’t been able to give her anymore.”

I just want to say thank you for the wonderful movie. I enjoyed it from the moment the music began, to the very end of it. I LOVE that special end after the credits! I cried at the end (happy tears), I felt extremely happy and those hundreds of details... Oh man! those were simply awesome.
Thank you, with all my heart. Thanks for bring them back. It was simply the best gift of all :)

STILL IN THE CLOUDS

I´m Maria del Pilar from Spain. Sorry for my English!
I saw "X Files: I Want to Believe" eight hours ago and I´m still in the clouds. When I left the cinema I couldn´t speak or think something with consistency. I think that tonight I will be thinking every second about the film.
First of all, thanks to everyone who made possible this fantastic movie. I haven´t only enjoyed with the 105 mins film´s. Since the same day that you announced that this film will be a reality. In this months I´ve been worried, happy, looking forward... And the best of all. I´ve been accompanied by wonderful people. Simply, for this moment it has been worth it.
Finally the countdown ended today. Suddenly lights off and we re-hear the music. It was like a dream come true. After much waiting, I was finally watching the film. I´m very happy for having resisted reading the spoilers appearing in recent weeks. I could enjoyed every minute, from the start to the end. And what can I say? I can´t express my feelings with words.
I enjoyed the film a lot... but I was so emotional that I forgot the dialogue only two seconds later. I really love the film but when I see it a couple of times more I will adore it!
Thank you very much for all those moments of Mulder and Scully that we have been waiting for so long to see. Their scenes were wonderful: the characters, the dialogue, etc...
I can only congratulate you and thank you once again for all the work and enthusiasm that you put in this project just for us. And thanks especially to you for being so attentive and having so much concern for us. If the film has half the success of your effort and our enthusiasm I'm sure that soon we will have a third film.
And now begins a new countdown. I´m looking forward to Wednesday to attend the London Premiere to see David, Gillian, Chris and you and enjoy once again with the film, but now in O.V. I won a pair of tickets and meet & greet in an English Trivia Contest (with a lot of suffering) and I hope that I can see D, G, C and you for a minutes although I couldn´t speak anything...
See you in London!

FILLED MY SHIPPER HEART

My name is Valeska, I'm from Chile and all I wanna said is:
Thanks¡¡¡¡¡¡ Thank you and all the crew¡¡¡
Today was the premiere here, I just came back from the cinema where I saw the movie at least today three times.
And I love it, I'm a die die hard fan, and this movie filled my shipper heart. Since the series ended, every day until this day I never lost the hope, the things you make me live all this years it's been a dream, I watched every "X-Files" page every day, I got my x tatoo, all things you made us live since December 10, it`s been a dream and I enjoyed every moment of it, and if I have to see the movie 20 more times, I will do it. I am 19, I have a lot to live, but the things that all of you make are beyond words, night without sleep, screamming today in the movie, crying, I can`t even tell you the biggest smille I have after the first time I saw it, and that the feeling that I want a third is a dream come true because I waited for this momet for 6 years with all my heart and soul. Every time that I feel sad or have other problems I saw my DVD's and I forgot the world. It was Mulder, Scully and me -- that's something that doesn`t have any price. Thank you, thank you.
Maybe I'm one in five billion..... But the way there's a lot of people who love the movie, and the critics are just bull of crap, shit, people who doesn`t get it the heart of the show and all our feelings over the years.
Everything for the X... I love Mulder and scully... I can rest in peace.
But the way the last scene with the boat, Oh my god¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Not even the best fic could make it better, I love it. The scene with the kiss, I broke in tears.
Thank you.
DON`T GIVE UP

ODE TO X

It emerged on our screens, a phenomenon came to light,
In the quest of Mulder and Scully we all joined their plight.

Philes forever, together we'd be, always in support
of Mulder and Scully.

Maybe there was hope, we all dared to dream
That one day, once more, they'd be gracing our screen.

And now, once more, we are in Phile bliss,
1 million thanks to Frank and Chris!!

To all the cast and crew, we have stood by you from day one and never looked back, You guys rock our world!!
Much phile love
Emma Hamilton, the inner circle gals and x-philes everywhere!!

ON THE "SHIP" LITERALLY

No words can express what I'm feeling right know. I just got back from the theatre where I saw the movie twice and I'm honestly shocked, thrilled and very moved. When you, Chris , David and Gillian said that this movie's going to appeal to a non-fanbase audience as well, I thought that there won't be enough room for scenes may referring to the fans of the show and I was honestly OK with it. I just wanted to add to my collection a new, good "X-File" story and try to getting familiar with the idea that it may be the last one. But Frank, after having watched the movie, I realised that this was a GENEROUS GIFT to all the fans out there who remained faithful to the series and to what "The X-Files" stand for: Belief, Trust, Faith, Hope, Friendship and finally Love, all in one. Gillian's and David's performances were magnificent and thanks for bringing back Mitch! His part, although small, was excellent and meaningful. At last but not least, their relationship status was more than I could even hope for and I'm so THANKFUL for this gift. The credit scene was so sweet, like a fairy-tale end which I loved! I mean, you put them on the 'ship' literally!!! I was so moved at this point and I have to admit that I screamed both times I watched it and can't wait for tomorrow to come to watch it again! Once more, THANK YOU, CHRIS, DAVID and GILLIAN for this gift and for remaining true to the series. I hope that you're making more "X-Files" movies. Yes, I want to believe that...
Please accept my BEST WISHES for the movie!
Love,

PHILE IN INDIA

I'm getting desperate, and believe you me - nobody wants to see a desperate Phile!
I am in India on business and will be here for the next few months... when I knew I was heading over here I immediately checked out info online to see whether XF2 would be playing - at that point in time the interweb told me that it would be playing in India. To my dismay, I'm now here and stuck here, but there is no XF2! I have hassled every major cinema chain on the phone, I have attempted to find out who distributes Fox stuff here, but it's a huge campaign of misinformation I tell you!
I don't want to miss out on seeing it on the big screen, but I need to know - will it EVER be shown in India? And if not - why dammit!?
Either way, just knowing would be better than where I'm at currently...
Hope the rest of the world is enjoying it!

If you're still there, you'll be able to see the movie when it opens in India on September 26.

WONDERFUL

I want to thank you (and all the others) so much for this great new movie! I met up with some other German Philes at Cologne to see the movie twice. First the dubbing, then original language. It was so wonderful to have Mulder and Scully back on screen and to see how they developed over the last years. After the screenings we were really overwhelmed by what you did there.
It all felt and still feels somehow like a dream from which we don't want to wake up.
I'm going to watch the movie twice again and for we are planning another meeting at Cologne to enjoy two more screenings.
Now that we are so happy about that movie and all the events connected with it, we decided to thank you in our own way and wrote a song for you.
I think the tune should be familiar to you, we heard the original version (Walking in Memphis) in the episode 'Post Modern Prometheus'.
So, here it is:

http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=WTr4FZSLmcw

Just in case you don't understand every line, these are the lyrics:

Put on our X- Files Shirts
Boarded the plain
Flying to the X- Files stars
Hopefully without rain

And we're all so happy
That we are going to London
We've got some premiere tickets
And that really turns us on

We just wanna thank you
`Cause this is all because of you
We just wanna thank you
We can't believe that this is really true

We're going to see Frank Spotnitz
David, Chris and Gillian, too
We're acting just like freaky kids
`Cause we're meeting the whole crew
It's the best thing that you could give us
You really made our year
Scully really loves Mulder
So let's scream in the cinema
For Shippers, THEY NAILED IT!

We just wanna thank you
`Cause this is all because of you
We just wanna thank you
We can't believe that this is really true

We got sunflower seeds on the table
We got X- Files in the air
We're so glad about this movie
`Cause we're waited for so looooooooong
We never gave up on a miracle

Frankie loves Larry
Since Tooms it's all so clear
They brought Father Joe down to see us
To tell us that it's here
Now let's all be shippers
And we scream with all our might
We say: TELL US ARE YOU A SHIPPER, FRANK?
We bet you are tonight

We just wanna thank you
`Cause this is all because of you
We just wanna thank you
We can't believe that this is really true

Put on our X- Files Shirts...

So again, I just can thank you for that movie and for everything you do for us. We appreciate all that so much.
I'm really looking forward to see you in London. (An who knows, maybe we'll see you wearing the shirts you got from Germany.)

WORD OF MOUTH

We were both personally disappointed in the outcome of Friday and Saturday night's box office grosses for this movie. We loved it and we want to encourage everyone around us to go see it... again and again!
I don't know how many of the fans are on facebook, but we created a group called "Save The X-Files:I Want To Believe!" that we figured would help in spreading this cause. If everyone who has facebook can join and invite everyone they know, this group will spread fairly quickly and hopefully by next weekend we will boost the box office sales a bit!
Here is the link: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=21218321867
Also, a word of encouragement from someone who works in the movie theater industry: the opening weekend is not everything! It's ALL about word-of-mouth! For instance, Titanic (which I would NEVER compare our beloved movie to), opened with only 28 million on its opening weekend... but went on to break many, many records as it continued to play... simply because of good word-of-mouth! This gives me hope and I hope that it will do the same for everyone else!

BRAVE

Dear Frank and Chris,
If it were possible to subtitle "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" even further, that's what I would call it. I didn't know what to expect going into the theater last night, but I never thought I would leave it so full of respect and admiration for everyone that made it happen.
I'm perplexed that this film seems to have been so grossly misunderstood by so many people. It seems many people are reviewing the wrong movie -- not the one they saw but the one they expected to see. The less-than-stellar reviews I read all seem to be lamenting that this was not a classic episode of "The X-Files" from its heyday with Mulder and Scully investigating paranormal activity. These people completely missed the point of the movie.
This is not a big summer popcorn movie. It's not a sequal to "Fight the Future" like so many critics expected. This is an epilogue to the show, a thoughtful character study, a poignant exploration of the show's themes of redemption and sacrifice. To me, the casefile was creepy but incidental. The real story was Mulder and Scully and how they grapple with the emotional and spiritual toll of their quest.
You have done an incredibly BRAVE thing, letting your "iconic" characters age and mature. I was surprised and delighted to find that this was not the same Mulder and Scully I last saw. I was struck by how fully-realized these characters are. I can't remember the last time I saw a relationship with such complexity on the big screen; Hollywood so rarely gets past the adolescent hook-up phase to what it's really like to love and relate to another person.
I think you made the movie you wanted to make, and while it's disappointing that it may not have the critical success you hoped for, I think this movie will stand the test of time. New fans will watch it and feel compelled to go back and discover the wonderful backstory of these characters, and knowing their future will add an interesting dimension to their viewing experience. To a long-time fan like me, this movie was a gift, a brief glimpse into the lives of characters I've spent a fair amount of time thinking and wondering about. THANK YOU sincerely.

I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY

Frank,
You have honored us by writing a story worth the wait, something challenging and intelligent. It has made us realize evermore why we have missed the X-Files and why we are so in love with this one. "I Want To Believe" was profound, provoking, and stimulating, so beautiful and real that it may not necessarily do what movies now are sadly, expected to... rid people of reality for an hour, leaving their problems on the ticket stub thats ripped off and thrown into the trash. No, instead, you invited them to join the fight, into the darkness to find their own light, to think about issues that most go in to the movies to avoid... it’s far to real for most people today. Just know, that we are so proud, proud of the film and proud to be X-Philes. Next time... the critics should wear some shades, brilliance like this is so rare, it has blinded them this summer.
