SHOCKING

Hi Frank!
Regarding one of your recent entries:
It's truly shocking to me that The Powers That Be at Fox do not recognize the detriment to the box office that a summer release, and one so close to "Batman," was for IWTB. No one is suggesting that IWTB would have had a $50 million opening, but most certainly it would have been a lot more successful if released now. The L.A. Times reported today that box office revenue has been down for eight of the last nine weekends. Can you imagine if IWTB was released now or in the last couple of weeks? Even trade papers reported that our small movie was meant for fall. A good, adult story, great acting, deep meanings, and even thriller elements: all perfect for a fall release. I'm shocked that a professional company like Fox does not recognize this and thus holds it against the "X-Files" franchise that the movie's gross was disappointing. Couple that attitude with the crummy promotion that Fox did and it honestly feels like the company has no real interest in making "The X-Files" successful once again.
But, thanks goodness we got this wonderful movie to bring some closure to the fans and the actors and crew. Thanks for helping make it happen and please don't be hurt or embarrassed that the monetary outcome was disappointing or that some reviewers were harsh. Yes, it hurts that "The X-Files" was dissed, so to speak, but we all know this is one of the greatest franchises *ever*, with the most awesome fans, and even more awesome actors and director/writer/producers like you and Chris.
It's Fox that I'm disappointed in....
Thanks again!
