LARIAT

Frank,
My question is about the bumper sticker that are on the rental cars that Mulder & Scully rent at the different places. Whether it is in Oregon or Washington or North Carolina, the rental car always has that same bumper sticker (LARIAT). Even in one episode they went to a Lariat Car Rental. My question is: Where did you come up with that name and does it have anything to do with the alien story line?
For the life of me I could not figure out what that said until I saw the episode with the car rental company in plain view. I once thought that was a name of the place where Mulder's sister was being held, but now, I realize it is only the rental car company.
I'm very anxious -- can't wait until December 2nd to get my DVD of IWTB. I'm going to buy the Blu-Ray version with all of the bells and whistles. Also, is there are meaning to the date December 2nd? I read your blog everyday, also I did write a letter to the person at 20th Century Fox and implored them to do another "X-File" movie. I hope that will get us another movie.
Take care -- it is a dangerous world out there --

The name "Lariat" has no special significance. I believe it was dreamt up by Ken Hawryliw, our property master in Vancouver, and the writers and producers kept it going all nine seasons. And the only significance to December 2 is that the studio decided it would be a good date to release the DVD!
