"JOY TO THE WORLD"

Hey there. I was listening to the Three Dog Night song "Joy to the World" the other day and thought of something. Whose idea was it for Scully to sing that in "Detour?" And why? Do you even know? Just FYI, that episode always reminds me of the good days. When it first aired, I remember being curled up on the couch with my daddy and when the teaser was over, he said "Ohhhhh, this looks like it's gonna be a good one!" :-D

In my original draft of the script, I believe I had Scully singing Hank Williams' "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry." Chris changed it to "Joy To The World," but he only recently told me that the idea for that song came from Gillian.
