HOPE WON'T DIE

Frank,
We are all trying so hard to keep our hope alive for more "X-Files" adventures. I know you have to be tired of answering some of these questions time and again, but you know we all mean well. I read your post this morning about network TV movies not being made anymore, and of course you would know better than most of us. I just thought I'd throw this out there. Would the same drawbacks apply to doing a week-long "miniseries" event... something like 'The X-Files: 2012'? It could be like writing one super-short arc of episodes... a 5- or 6-episode mini-season, to tidy up all the loose ends. I just can't believe that an event like that wouldn't be groundbreaking and possibly even record-setting for Fox, IF, IF, IF, IF, IF the right sort of promotion were put into it. Or, forget doing it in a week-long fashion... If they aired it during sweeps month, say one every Sunday night, with the last one being 2-hours? I know, I know, I am dreaming here, but that's just what I envision in my head. I can even see the slate for the little teaser adds, LOL. Sorry, I am just literally laughing here, being overcome at our utter desperation for MORE MORE MORE! As if the 2nd film is not "enough." It certainly is, and I hope you know it is appreciated. I think it's just stoked a fire that was dead for a lot of us, having made our peace with drawing our own conclusions about the "end". Now we get to pray and believe that we may get a true resolution after all. Also, "Tracee from Phoenix" is on my nerves. I don't know of another show/film series that has one of the executive producers sit down and answer fan mail on a regular basis. I mean, talk about biting the hand that feeds. Duh.
Anyway, keep up the good work, Frank, and please don't tire of our relentless HOPE... After all, you, Chris and the cast taught us that virtue in the first place. :D,
Eric
