ELEVEN TIMES
Okay... I am convinced that you don't like my messages... no clue why but, oh well...
What I am writing about today, is the DVD extras. What happened to all those "scary scenes" that were supposed to make it to the Blu-Ray disc? Five minutes of deleted scenes? What? Huh? Look.. I saw this movie eleven or so times... paid full price each and every time. I've purchased all... and I do mean all, of the DVDs released of the seasons... all nine seasons in collector's editions, plus two more sets of the collector's editions of seasons where I'd watched so many times, the DVD's have worn out... I purchased all the "mythology" sets...and, even the "Revelations" set. I didn't use my movie money... still in the "Revelations" set. What I am saying, is that I am a devoted fan... have stuck by this series for more years than I'd like to ever admit... to anybody I know... But, here I am... contemplating whether or not I should pass on the DVD release of IWTB.
Why does it seem that everybody concerned, simply dropped the ball, when it comes to this movie. Does anybody even care? Frankly, I am disappointed... horribly disappointed with what we're supposedly getting. It only makes me think, even more than I already do, about leaving this whole thing behind... selling all of my things... and, I have a lot... a lot of collectibles... and move on. I won't ever, ever get this involved in something like this, again... it, generally, isn't who I am... That's what I've tried to convey to you in my posts... nothing, and I do mean nothing, has ever captured my interests, like "The X-Files" did. I simply don't watch television...period. So, in my head, that says something about the quality of the show...even in the last few seasons. So... can you understand why I am so disappointed by all of this? By Fox and, whomever else is responsible for, in my eyes, the demise of "The X-Files?" Fox had its chance to really make something incredible happen here. Sorry but, in my opinion, they've really f***ed things up here... put the final nail, in the coffin, if you will... I'm sorry if this offends you but, it's the way I feel...disappointed as hell...

I'm sorry you're disappointed, Tracee. In terms of the DVD release, the extended version of the movie is more graphic and disturbing, but not substantially longer. There certainly was more material we could've included, but our interest was in releasing the best possible version of the film, not simply extending its length. Some material that we didn't think improved the film is included as deleted scenes. You should know that both the standard and the Blu-Ray releases are packed with as many features and as much bonus material as we the discs would fit. I hope you'll feel better about it after you've seen it.
