I THANK YOU (AGAIN)
Just before the movie opened, I went online to thank all the fans who shared their stories, thoughts and concerns with us this year. Now that "I Want To Believe" is leaving the theaters, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all over again.
The past month has been an incredible roller-coaster ride for all of us. There have been a lot of highs -- and more than a few lows. But while the box-office and critical reception weren't all that we hoped for, the response of fans across the world has been absolutely overwhelming. Your dedication, intelligence, enthusiasm, support and love have been the source of our highest highs (and sustained us during the lowest lows).
I'd like to take special note of three people who have helped out in ways that benefit all "X-Files" fans. Matt Allair, who runs www.x-fileslexicon.com, gave generously of his time to work on special features for the forthcoming DVD release. In addition to being at fan events and an amazing online supporter (at www.xfilesnews.com and elsewhere), Lisa Angelo selflessly gave her time and expertise to "The Complete X-Files" publishing project again and again. And, last but never least, a huge thank-you to Alison Groves, whom I one day hope to meet so I can thank her in person for her kindness and grace in moderating the Big Light social network, which she has singlehandedly turned into a runaway success.
And for those of you who may have been wondering: I am still getting dozens of e-mails every day, reading them all and posting as many as I can. The volume of correspondence will doubtless ebb and flow in the months ahead, but we'll still be here.
