BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE

I've just had the two best days of my life. What a bizarre and great week! I can't imagine how it must have been for you! First of all I would like to say a big thank you (this is all I could manage to say to you and Chris at the Forbidden Planet signing). Thank you for getting Fox to send me some tickets and thank you for this movie. The show means so much to me and many other people all around the world (as I'm sure you're now aware). I've watched the x-files since I was 8 when the first season was showing on the BBC (which I agree was very strange). I think why the show meant (and means) so much to me was that it was a constant. It's very personal but I really just want to share just how much you've helped touch people's lives. My parents were divorcing when I first starting watching the show (which is probably why I was allowed to watch it when I was so young). I had a pretty tough childhood (as a lot of people do) and moved homes and between parents all my life, feeling very alone. We didn't have much money and I wasn't very self confident. But I think this is why the x-files struck me (even at such a young age). Here was Mulder, a loner, passionate and full of drive -and Scully, a strong, intelligent role-model and she had red-hair - like I did. I honestly believe the x-files educated and gave me a reassurance that I too could use my knowledge to push forward and make a life for myself rather be another statistic, another single-parent family. No-body gets there alone - and with the x-files I didn't feel that I was.
I've now graduated with a first class degree in Experimental Psychology from a top university and I honestly put a lot of it down to the show. I've managed to support myself (when I never felt settled and so many times almost went into care) and make some amazing friends when I was told I wouldn't amount to anything. Thank you Frank! Celebrating my degree was great and meant a lot to me. A great day. But when I came home I checked Biglight and realised I had missed the competition to win tickets to the premiere. I was gutted. I emailed to thank you and explained I missed the competition as I had my graduation. I didn't expect a reply. I didn't expect anything. But then a few days later Fox emailed. They informed me that you had passed on my email and would like to invite me. Frank Spotnitz. the man, the legend invited me! I was at work when it happened and my colleagues just stared on as I was gaping at my computer screen. I couldn't believe it. In fact I didn't. I wanted to (no pun intended). The tickets were posted and when I got them I screamed in delight. The day was fantastic - meeting other philes from all walks of life and being on the red carpet with you David Gillian and Chris. I met Chris and managed to thank him (captured on screen to my delight and horror), I was interviewed by Gia and got to see you introduce the film and the see film itself.
The film was fantastic! I couldn't have asked for more. Scully and Mulder's maturity, relationship, the conflict of emotions and the morality in the story all played out beautifully. Thank you Frank. The next day I got to shake your hand at Forbidden Planet and wanted to choke out how much it all meant. What you and Chris created. I'm the last person to feel starstruck, with the exception of this show. Meeting you was amazing and I have these interactions caught on camera (lots of thanks to Gia for that!). I really hope another film will get made but right now I'm just thankful we have this one. Also you are a lovely, lovely, person. I've heard a few friends complain when they meet rolemodels and are often disappointed but you and Chris were so lovely and have done so much for the fans it just gave me a whole new level of respect for you.
I'm really sad this is all over but seeing the film a few dozen times will help I'm sure.
Here are the videos if you have time to look.

Being interviewed talking about your invitation and then meeting CC on the redcarpet and you being interviewed (all in a one minute segment piece).

At the moment I'm finding myself and trying out new things but hoping to go into production and media and one day maybe I too can make an impact like you have with me (and thousands of philes everywhere). Thanks Franks, it was a pleasure meeting you.
