MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
Hi Frank,
I just wanted to say that I think the support film is receiving from die-hard fans is unbelievable, yet at the same time, it does not surprise me even in the slightest. (As you probably already know, philes can be pretty relentless.) I think it is great that everyone is trying to do their part to make TXF: IWTB more successful at the box office. Whether it be through word of mouth or by flooding negative movie reviews with our defensive comments, we really do want to believe that everyone else can understand there is more to this film than what initially meets the eye. There are only two reasons why so many people (critics) are giving this movie a bad review: a) no explosions and b) they simply don't understand it. This isn't a film in which the moral of the story is handed to the audience outright; it is a film with many layers that, once peeled away, may just be the best movie I have seen in a very long time. The underlying meaning is found in the struggle between work and love, as we get to witness the changing dynamic between Mulder and Scully first as parters in life and second as former partners at work. It is about redemption and the pursuit of something that one so desperately wants to achieve. It is about two people, two perfect opposites, who take their relationship to a level that runs deeper than any fan could've ever hoped. And for that, I would like to thank you; for your efforts, for this film, for Mulder and Scully, and for not giving up.
Sincerely,
Amanda
