FULFILLLING
I'm one of the girls who showed up at the red carpet for the Vancouver screening on Thursday. You and Chris very kindly said hello and signed a lunchbox and some pictures and posters for us. We were thrilled enough with that, but I wish you could've seen our faces the moment we were given the extra tickets and allowed in to see the movie with all of you! The woman in charge of handing out the tickets said it was "all Chris and Frank," so we want to thank you very much. What an experience to mark this movie we've been anticipating for so many years!
Other people have articulated their appreciation for the movie better than I could, so I'll keep it short. I think some viewers and reviewers couldn't help but expect an "X-Files" installment as it was ten years ago - suits, badges, and fanged monsters. Instead you made an intimate, tense, and quiet film that is a beautiful thematic capstone to the series and to Mulder and Scully. It's a very different thing, and I love that. I want to express my thanks to you, Chris, David, and Gillian for giving this movie to us - and also for all you've put into the promotion and "fan" aspect of this reunion. It's strange to love someone's creation and never be able to express to them the meaning of that connection, but I think this time around many fans have been able to achieve it. I hope the exchange is as fulfilling for you as it is for us. :)
Thanks so much, and have fun in London!
