ACROSS THE POND

Hope everything is going well for you all on your visit to the UK. With the premiere in Leicester Square just hours away, I expect you wont read this until later, but I hope it's a wonderful evening for you and everyone attending. I was incredibly disappointed to have missed out on the recent ticket giveaway, with my trivia answer being about an hour too late, but it was an amazing opportunity and I'm sure all the lucky winners are going to make the most of the experience. I can't wait for the movie to open on Friday, not just for the obvious, but because we fans in England can finally join in with all the reaction and celebration. It's been a very difficult week since the domestic launch, desperately trying to avoid spoilers and reviews all over the internet, having to stay away from fan forums, and of course averting my eyes from most of your blog entries. Even google is a minefield! From the weekend, us Brits can finally come in from the cold.
In the mean time, it's been good seeing David and Gillian hitting the talkshows over here as public anticipation builds. I discovered that you and Chris were going to be in Oxford Street's HMV yesterday too late to make travel plans. How did it go? I've also learned that your next stop will be Forbidden Planet on Thursday lunchtime. I'd so very much like to make it down to meet you both, although the distance and expense is proving tricky. But I can think of nothing better than to shake your hand and tell you both in person how much I admire your work, and that you're two of my personal heroes.
Here's hoping for the strongest possible opening weekend at the UK box office. Thank you for making this movie for us. It's a gift waiting under the tree, and even though some of our brothers and sisters have got to open theirs first, the wrapping has not been torn, and in just a few days we can enjoy it with them.
Jamie
