WHY 'ED HEAD?'
This may not be the most profound question you will ever receive, but here goes: where did the name of the character Ed Head come from in "Night Stalker?" It seems rather unusual, as if it’s a nickname rather than a real name perhaps? As a techie problem-solver, might she have recurred in later episodes in a similar way that, say, the Lone Gunmen characters on "The X-Files" did?

You're exactly right, Jamie. Ed Head (played by Loreni Delgado) would have recurred in the series. While her role undeniably bore a resemblance to the Lone Gunmen, my intention was to connect her to Latino neighborhoods in Los Angeles as a way into the stories and mysteries taking place there. (And she was a love interest for Jain!) As for the name, it comes from my own family. "Ed Head" was what we used to call my brother Ed, who -- like Loreni's character -- earned the nickname for his incredible facility with computers and problem solving.
